Post by Alex Rohin | James Tock on Mar 31, 2012 3:55:36 GMT 1
Name – James Tock
Power – Tock has no FAYZ powers, although his own personal “powers” include wonderful cooking and the ability to make Rohin generally happier. And the fact that he's kinda strong.
Power Level - Definitely a 4 Bar Chef.
Alliance - Rohin
Family - Older brother Nathaniel Tock (deceased)
Age - 19; Tock has been returned because of Rohin's pact with the Gaiaphage.
Height - 6'2
Song - (Specifically addressed to Rohin) "Don't Give Up" by Josh Groban [link]
Personality – Tock is a polite and well-mannered person who is, if not frustrated, extremely patient with everything. He likes things to be perfect and neat and enjoys quiet and solitude with Rohin. He is usually a face of emotionless steel; he has a sense of humor, however, and will occasionally smile lightly at certain things. Specifically little things that Rohin does. Rohin makes Tock happy, and Tock makes Rohin happy. ... Unfortunately, Tock has a very hard time keeping his anger in check, and often times he tends to go a bit far with things that cause frustration; as patient as he can be, it is only because he bottles that frustration to try and stay calm. He has lost control of himself several times in the past and deeply regrets the things he has done under the influence of his uncontrollable anger and rage.
Background –
(For the purpose of GONE formatting, this history has been severely warped from Rohin and Tock's true story. However, the main events and themes are still present!)
Tock was raised by his older brother, Nathaniel, for the majority of his childhood. It was on the day that Rohin's mother died that Tock found him, wandering the streets of Peridido Beach, crying. Rohin had become inconsolable from his mother's death and apparently his father had thrown him out of the house. Rohin was about four at the time. For the majority of the day, Tock watches over Rohin and within the short time together they become friends...
Then Rohin's father comes back looking for Rohin. In an emotional rage, the man grabs Rohin and begins to violently beat him with the intent to kill him. Rohin's father believed Rohin to be a completely and utter failure of a son, and with the death of his wife (Rohin's mother) the man has completely lost his mind. However, seeing the violence makes Tock immediately violent as well. Tock pulls out a knife and slams the knife into Rohin's father, over and over again until there is nothing but blood everywhere. The man, Rohin's father, was dead.
Tock, after recovering from his violent outburst, felt horrible for killing Rohin's father. He did save Rohin from his abusive father... Rohin does not know that Tock violently murdered his father on the same day his mother died. Rohin does not remember it and Tock had shoved down that horrible moment deep inside of him.
As Tock happened to be young at the time, his older brother fought for rights to keep both children and succeeded. He home-schooled them. One evening, however, Nathaniel's girlfriend, Anne (who was greatly kind to both Rohin and Tock; she was like a mother to both of them) is there and Nathaniel treats her poorly. There is a confrontation and Nathaniel hits her, too hard and shoves her head against a corner of a counter; she is dead. The violence sent Tock into a rage... and to defend Anne, he mindlessly grabs a knife and repeatedly stabs his own brother, again covering himself with blood... and completing another murder.
At this point, it was recognized by authorities that Tock had "severe mental difficulties" and he would not be able to function "within normal public settings," especially now that his legal guardian was deceased, and by his own hands. The fact that Tock had murdered his own brother did not do him well especially in his heart and he shut that off as well, shoving it deep back inside of him. His violent streak earned him a free bus ride to Coates Academy with two violent murders on his record. He was forced to take remedial anger-management classes that helped, slightly. However, all throughout everything, Tock continued to watch over Rohin, who was sent to Coates right alongside him-- anyone who harmed Rohin was severely harmed by Tock, and usually, Tock's broad shoulders and powerful arms gave plenty of incentive not to harm his Rohin.
Tock was speaking to Rohin about class schedules when the FAYZ was created-- he disappeared right in front of Rohin's eyes and was gone for weeks. However, according to Tock's own memories, he was speaking to Rohin within their dorm... and then suddenly, he was standing in the darkness of the abandoned mineshaft... after unknowingly being returned to Rohin by the Gaiaphage.

Basic RP History:
(Starting off right from Rohin's history, mostly tying into it)
(Day 23) Tock appears in front of Rohin in the mineshaft after the Gaiaphage poofed him back. Was very confused. ... Was told by Rohin a quick summary of what sort of happened; Tock held him as he cried, quite worried about him. Tock does not understand what has really occured... Either way, they head back to Coates to get Tock's car; Tock is confused as to why everyone is gone. They continue to Peridido and spend the night at Kida's house which Rohin pointed out to Tock.
(Day 24) As Rohin sleeps right through the day, Tock travels into town for cooking supplies. He speaks to Anna about that and receives rations, and then after hearing those who get food are requested to work for it, Tock actually gives himself the job of cleaning and cooking fish. He takes his cooking ingredients home with a gallon of water from Anna and bakes-- he bakes lovely rolls and when Rohin awakes, he visually shares the finished product. Rohin says nothing. Tock can tell that Rohin is greatly bothered or pained by something, but Tock isn't going to press the young boy about it in case he only hurts Rohin. Instead Tock takes Rohin with him to his new job of hacking fish apart-- which Tock has Rohin wait outside the grocery store for.
(Day 25) Another day of working. Tock has Rohin sit outside again, and after cleaning, gutting, cleaning more and fileting fish, Tock has plenty go go cook. Except that grocery stores don't have ovens or stovetops to cook on, so Tock exits the store with the raw fish to go to McDonald's instead for their giant, industrial-sized stove-tops. He stops at the sight of Rohin being tense over a girl and another little girl, and watches, curious. Tock frightens the girl who Rohin intros as Alice. And he meets Lila. Then leaves to go cook fish in the McDonald's as he had originally planned. Then later while cooking, Rohin runs in and tells him that something has happened to Alice-- Tock runs back with him, placing aside cooking for the moment to go help Alice until Lana arrives.
