( made by the awesome BUG. )
Hi! I'm Chelsea,AKA BUG :3 I guess you could call me a veteran Rper? I have been Rping for about 14 years. Over the years I have made and seen some mistakes... so im just spreading my knowledge of the world or RPing. :3 This is mainly to help New RPers.
Character creation:
When making a new character I normally like to change the name of said character, for example when I chose Ariel for MSWW I changed it to Amy. When you change the name of the character it helps people see your character as a NEW person, not just a knock off of the original animated or LA version of it.
Character Personality:
Just like in real life, no one is perfect. Make sure your character has a flaws like being awkward, being to straight forward, being mysterious... that kind of thing. And do not assume every other RPer will like your character. Having conflict is a good thing in RP. :3
Also, let us into your characters head. But don't give away all of your characters past. Let us see what annoys them and makes them happy.
Character Past:
Give the admin something to work with, leave small blanks in your characters past that the admin can fill in with a side plot to make your experience more exciting. Do keep in mind the Admin might not come up with anything untill later, give them time to think of one for you.
Do not have a complex background for your character, make it so your character is realistic and relatable. If you have to much information sometimes it can get confusing, sometimes that makes others not want to rp with you.
Try to come up with a interesting past but try not to copy. I see a lot of Rpers use the pretty much the same past as the Animated / LA person they are using. It's already been done! Try and be creative!
Love:
Don't try to force your characters into romances, let them figure it out. Sometimes if you try to force your character onto another character it wont work and they might then try to avoid it as fast as they can.
If you do end up in a romance with another character, Make sure to know how the other RPer feels about how far you both will go. Also, Find out what Rating your RP is before going into details you may not be allowed to do. If you do go into details the Admin might not want in the roleplay, do it Via PM.
Ratings
G- Just a peak on the cheek & some hugs nothing more
PG - Small kissing and hugs
PG-13 - Snogging & a bit of Flirtatious hand rubbing, you are able to take off clothing Items, but keep the underwear on.
R - Anything goes.
Role-playing your Character:
When role-playing your character It's better, in my opinion to add detail to your writing.
That seems really boring and to the point right? By adding some detail to the Sentence, it makes your character come to life as well as there surroundings.
That seems more real right? When you add more detail to your writing, people will actually think of the scene you are trying to portray.
GIFs :
If you want to show your characters emotion and show them in a BIG way, you can always do it with a GIF! Most of the time it will make the scene, you are making a bit more dramatic! This is what it would look like with out one.
And this is it again with a GIF added.
Note: I normally get my Gifs from Tumblr. :3
RPing with Other People:
We all RP with different people, we know this and we know that people can sometimes get sidetracked. One thing I have noticed with some new RPers is that they tend to want A LOT of attention, and when they RP they WANT to RP with specific people. Don't do that to yourselves, Rp with as many different people as possible! It will make it more fun for everyone!
Another things, is when RPers DEMAND to be RP with. "Jordan is in the Common room." "I just replied to your post." . Giving a small note to the RPer you wish to RP with is perfectly fine. But when you PM them, Message them, & Bomb-bard them to RP with it it can be a negative thing and people may never want to RP with you again. Just be calm, and give them a chance to Reply in there own time.
Admins:
Admins are the creators of the Roleplay you are participating in, they are the controller of the Main plot as well as the Side Plots. They try to make your RPing experience awesome!
But do keep in mind Admin's can MAKE or BREAK your characters, Your playing in the admin's world and if they deem your character DEAD you should fallow it, and not question it.
Admins also have the authority to kick you off the RP, if you are being inactive and or a upset to the other RPers.
Ask Admins Questions, if you have a concern or a question and are confused. It's always better to ask.... Us Admin's LIKE that.
In other words.... DON'T PISS OFF THE ADMINS
Side Plots:
Side plots are Plots, created for specific characters and or all of them. It doesn't always go into the main plot, but sometimes will. These side plots are for fun.
You are more than welcome to make your own side plot just as long as you NOTIFY THE ADMIN AND GET THEIR CONSENT FIRST. You want to make sure you get the green light before you make a side plot because they will want to make sure, the side plot you have won't disrupt the MAIN PLOT and or someone else's plot.
Advice on how to be a good RPer according to Mama BUG...

EX: Amy walks into the Dining hall and sits down.
That seems really boring and to the point right? By adding some detail to the Sentence, it makes your character come to life as well as there surroundings.
EX:Amy floated into the Dinning hall, the smells of fresh bread making her mouth water. She grinned sitting down on the bench.
That seems more real right? When you add more detail to your writing, people will actually think of the scene you are trying to portray.
